TIPPERARIANA BOOK FAIR
Annual Book Fair for Book Lovers and Collectors

Second Sunday in February every year
Fethard Ballroom - 12 noon to 4.30pm

Fethard Historical Society hold their annual Tipperariana Book Fair on the second Sunday in February each year. The Book Fair was first held in 1996 and has now grown to be one of the largest, if not the largest, book fairs in Ireland. Dealers come from places as far away as Armagh City in the North of Ireland, Schull in the South West, and from many places in between. The variety of books available to buy on the day range from 10c paperbacks to €500 antique collector items. It is a great place to find a book that you may have been seeking for years - and if it is not available on the day you can be sure the dealers will find it for you. If you have valuable books at home you can also bring them along and get them valued without obligation. Ask the organisers (Fethard Historical Society) for directions on this.

An entrance fee of €2 is charged at the door. A lively café is open all day on the premises. We also hold a raffle with lots of prizes to be won and our piano player, on stage, provides suitable background music for the large number of book browsers that usually turn up each year.

Book dealers are always welcome to set up their own stall at the Fair at a cost of approximately €30 per table and over 30 dealers are present every year. Individuals are also welcome to set up a stall for the day so please contact the organisers if you would like to do so. Early booking is advisable.

    BOOK DONATIONS

The organisers of the Tipperariana book fair also very glad to receive donations of books which are sold on their own bookstall on the day. The money raised is then used by the society in its on-going work of promoting a 'sense of place' among the people of the parish of Fethard and Killusty.
